T. Is For Tigers

Tigers are a beautiful species, and are also in great risk of being extinct. Which is why I opened up this site, to try and raise money for Tigers. They have as much, if not more right to live on this earth than we do. But, Tigers are being threatened with the risk of extinction. So I ask you to donate money to Save The Tigers at savetigersnow.org

Why I made this site

I made this site for two reasons.

One: I love Tigers so much, and I wanted to help in any way I could.

Two: my Bar Mitzvah is coming up, and I needed to make a Tikkun Olam project.

Tiger Fact #2

An adult Tiger can eat up to 40 kg of meat in one meal. That's 88 lbs!

Why Tigers are endangered and why that is bad.

Tigers are suffering from people poaching Tigers, people killing Tiger's food, and people not giving Tigers enough space. If this continues, Tigers will suffer more losses, and will finally become extinct.

When a species goes extinct, it leaves behind a scar, which affects the entire ecosystem. Another reason why we need to save the tiger is that our forests are water catchment areas. ... The tiger is a unique animal which plays a pivotal role in the health and diversity of an ecosystem.

If the feline were to disappear, there would be consequences for all the links of this chain, with the effects even influencing plants and in some areas, people (multiplication of “prey” herbivores, overgrazing, proliferation of some parasites, possible spreading of epidemics, and disappearance of new species…).

Extinction already had their toll on 3 of the 9 subspecies of tigers. These three subspecies include Balinese tigers (Panthera tigris balica), Caspian tigers (Panthera tigris virgata), and Javan tigers (Panthera tigris sondaica). All three have been extinct for at least 3 decades.

Tiger attacks in human villages occur. Most tigers will only attack a human if they cannot physically satisfy their needs otherwise. Tigers are typically wary of humans and usually show no preference for human meat. Although humans are relatively easy prey, they are not a desired source of food.

Tiger Fact #3

Did you know that the Tigers' scientific name is Panthera tigris?

What is savetigersnow.org?

Tiger Fact #4
